Help for Home Care and Hospice Providers

We know that the primary focus of Home Care and Hospice providers is to provide the best possible care for their patients; we also know that the last thing on their mind is the supply chain.  Luckily we have a solution that focuses on this aspect of your business for you!

Our thought was simple, find a way to have the clinicians who care for patients enter their orders while in the field, have those orders go through a series of checks and balances (set by the providing agency of course) and then deliver the orders directly to the patient’s or clinician’s home the next day.  Then we had another idea, what if we created an interface with agency’s billing software so the orders AND invoices flowed seamlessly between the two companies eliminating double entry.  The solution we created from these ideas is GroveConnect.

The way GroveConnect can help you increase your patient care is by saving your organization both TIME and MONEY.  By implementing this process orders can be placed as your clinicians see their patients (from formularies you put together), you’ll eliminate the need for large medical supply closets and cut out the numerous back and forth trips clinicians make to get supplies.  All of which increase your operational costs.  The feature, however, that sets Grove’s tool apart from others is that you can write your own checks and balances (e.g. only one silver dressing for a patient per week, order value not to exceed $25.00, etc.) and that these rules can be patient specific, product specific, time frame specific and/or a combination of any and all.  If one of these checks and balances are breached an email will be sent to the Clinician Manager to be either approved or declined based on patient need, doctor’s orders, etc.

The beauty of GroveConnect is that it delivers on the features listed above while increasing control through formularies (that’s right you can create as many as you like) and having orders go through a series of checks and balances.  Best of all it reduces the amount of time spent on managing this process leaving more time in the day as well as dollars in the budget to focus on patient care!

Come join Grove and let our technology help you work smarter, not harder. We’re here to help!

New Skin Wellness System by Kendall

Our friends at Kendall, a part of Covidien, have introduced their new Skin Wellness System in an effort to be the complete partner in providing top notch care for your patients.  Kendall’s system is designed to cleanse, moisturize, protect and treat skin and when you use each of the products in the line you can very effectively care for damaged skin, especially damage caused by incontinence.

The products in Kendall’s Skin Wellness System contain jojoba oil, a natural extract from the seeds of the jojoba plant that very closely resembles the oils found in our skin.  This resemblance allows the jojoba oil to be easily absorbed into the skin and with repeated application the moisturizing and skin protection effects of the jojoba oil are maximized.

As mentioned before you’ll find in this program products to cleanse, moisturize, protect and treat skin.  There are two no rinse cleansing options (Body Wash and Shampoo and 2-in-1 Cleanser), three options for moisturizing (Moisturizing Lotion, Moisture Barrier Cream and Soothing Ointment), one option for protection (Antimicrobial Cleanser) and one for treatment (Antifungal Cream).

Grove is one of only a handful of distributors in the healthcare supply chain with access to Kendall’s new Skin Wellness line so give us a call, email or visit our website for more information, we’d love to help you!

NASVH Summer Conference

We’ve just returned from the NASVH Summer Conference in Burlington, VT and had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

I have to say that it’s so great to be surrounded by folks who’s primary focus is caring for those who have served our great country!  We take tremendous pride in being a medical supply distribution partner for several of the State Veterans Homes and in showcasing new and innovative products to help provide outstanding care.

This year we highlighted the Aeda Aeria 8Pro mattress replacement system, a product that many of our customers have had great success with in both preventing and healing pressure ulcers.  But don’t just take our word for it, please click here to review its clinical report and contact us for success stories.

Another piece of information that will be of interest to you is cost savings.  If you’re renting Group II surfaces to reduce the likelihood of or heal pressure ulcers you could save thousands of dollars a month by purchasing this mattress.  Alternately the 8Pro is very competitively priced so it’ll be worth your while to do a cost comparison to what you’re currently buying.  Please contact your Sales or Customer Service Representative for more information.

Again we’d like to say that it’s an honor to work with the State Veterans Homes, we truly appreciate what you do and our partnerships.  Keep up the great work!

With that said we wanted to pass along an update from Attends on upcoming improvements to their Fastening Tape System and  Dry-Wipes.  These upgrades help their products perform better and increases their brand’s strength, take a look below to see what’s on the horizon:

  • Attends is pleased to announce a new, better design of fastening tape system.
  • Benefits:

    • Less Flagging-The new style tab has repositioned 80% of the adhesive away from the finger lift and eliminated 50% of the long release tape portion of the tab. This reduces the prevalence of open tapes in the production process ensuring a more consistent product to customers and consumers.
    • Glove Friendly-The new style tab maintains our industry-leading Comfort-Flex tape design while limiting the concern of tab adhesive sticking to caregivers’ glove.

2.  New Packaging for Quickable Dry Wipes

  • Products Impacted:  2500, 2503
  • The printing on the inner bags of our dry wipes have changed from green to Attends® Blue.
  • Benefits:

Standardizing this message and updating packaging helps reinforce this effort and provides better value and consumer loyalty for those you serve.
If any of these changes affects you, your business or your loved one please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Let’s Improve Revenues, Inventory Control and Ordering

With talk of cutbacks on the way and budgets tightening up in the healthcare field its more important than ever to provide top notch care while watching every dollar being spent. As your distribution partner and supply chain expert we want to help you manage your inventory and ordering process while providing an easy and innovative way to capture your resident charges.

To accomplish this Grove developed a software package several years ago, Tracer, as an easy to use inventory and patient charge tracking system that also manages your orders; today we have almost 80 active installations.  It’s a very user friendly system that utilizes time-stamped barcode scans to track when product is used with each particular patient.  It offers flexibility in reporting capabilities, customizable file exports that can be imported into your accounting software, electronic ordering based off usage, formulary compliance and is HIPAA compliant.

Grove offers this value-added software to its customers free of charge with free on-site installation, training and retraining.  We also have a toll-free dedicated help desk number, (866) 675-9541 and GoToAssist support.  Please contact Brian Snelgrove for further information.
